Terms & Conditions

By participating in any of the events of “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One: BARKada,” the participants understand that the event is organized and managed by UPMV K9 Corps (UP-MMDA-Vanguard K9 Corps).

1. Eligibility: “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One” is open to all dogs and their owners who are physically able to participate in the event. All participants must be responsible for their own safety and the safety of their dogs. 

2. Registration: All participants must register for “Aso ni Juan: Getting Ready for the Big One: BARKada” before the event. Walk-in participants are welcome, however, we have a limited number of participant slots and will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Human Participants:

  • This event is open to participants aged 10 and above.
  • Participants who are below the legal age of 18 are required to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Dog Participants:

  • A maximum of one dog is permitted per person.
  • At least 6 months old (Alternative: At least 1+ years old, but it will differ for different breeds. Please apply common sense where your dog is involved. If you are unsure, ask your vet.)
  • With updated vaccination records (which shall be presented upon walk-in registration)
  • Must wear a harness or leash at all times during the event.

Changing route categories is prohibited upon completion of registration.

3. Health of Dogs: All dogs must be in good health and able to participate in “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One: BARKada”. Owners are responsible for ensuring their dogs are up-to-date on all vaccinations and in good physical condition. 

4. Leash Rules: All dogs must be kept on a leash during “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One Year: BARKada”. Retractable leashes are not recommended, but if used, must be kept at a length of 6 feet or less. 

5. Behavior: Dogs that display aggressive behavior towards other dogs or people will be asked to leave the event. Owners are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and any damage caused by them. Please refer to REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9482 “Anti-Rabies Act of 2007”

6. Equipment and Accessories Participants in “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One: BARKada” can enter with a collar or harness, lead, or “waist belt and line.”

The following is NOT permitted:

  • Leads longer than 2 meters
  • Studded boots and cross-country spikes
  • Electric shock collars

7. Disclaimer of Liability: All participants participate at their own risk. The organizers of “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One: BARKada” will not be liable for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during the event. 

8. Photography and Video: By participating in “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One: BARKada”, participants consent to being photographed and/or filmed for promotional purposes. 

9. Cancellation or Postponement: In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the organizers of “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One: BARKada” may cancel or postpone the event. 

10. Refunds: Registration is non-refundable. Registration is considered official when payment is made.

11. Complaint: The organizers’ decision is final. All protests related to results must be made in writing and submitted within one hour after the end of the race to the race organizer. Official complaints should be filed at the designated booth from 10AM to 4PM. A non-refundable protest fee amounting to Php5,000 is required. Verbal protests will not be entertained.

12. Indemnification: Participants agree to indemnify and hold the organizers of “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One: BARKada” harmless from any and all claims arising out of their participation in the event. 

13. Modifications: The organizers of “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One: BARKada” reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time without notice. 

14. Acceptance: By participating in “Aso ni Juan, Getting Ready for the Big One: BARKada”, participants acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions.
